Overview of BASA’s Ohio Superintendent Professional Learning Academy


For more than two decades, Craig Hockenberry has worked in multiple school districts as both a superintendent and principal. He is a superintendent at Three Rivers Local School District where he oversees a student population of 2,400 students. Craig Hockenberry also maintains membership with numerous professional organizations including the Buckeye Association of School Administrators (BASA).

The Buckeye Association of School Administrators represents the interests of school superintendents and other administrators across Ohio. BASA seeks to inspire and support its members as well as serves as an advocate for the public education system. The association offers numerous educational programs such as the Ohio Superintendent Professional Learning Academy.

The Academy sponsored by BASA’s School Leadership Foundation provides a unique educational opportunity for Ohio’s school district superintendents. The focus of the academy is to equip participants with educational leadership skills and recognize the need for strategic leadership that takes into account an evolving economy, job market, and accountability. In addition, the academy seeks to address how technology has influenced teaching and learning methodologies as well as neuroscience advancements.
